A Rube Goldberg machine is a deliberately over engineered machine that performs a very simple task in a very complex fashion, usually including a chain reaction. The expression is named after American cartoonist and inventor Rube Goldberg. In the second version of the music video for their song "This Too Shall Pass", OK GO! used this type of machinery to create one of the most detailed and tremendous videos of all time. Yes, you heard me, ALL TIME!
